We're a small shop located in beautiful Charlestown, Rhode Island. We focus on small production wines that offer honesty, great stories, and value. We try to expand your palate while conserving your wallet, with thoughtful selections from around the world.
Jane - Owner
Jane is the friendly face behind the counter able to offer you advise on cheese and wine, and even better, how to pair them together. She also is more than happy to offer guidance on Tequila, Gin, cordials, and whip up a quick cocktail recipe for you.
Justin - Curator
Justin has many years in the wine industry, and even passed tests that allow him to put letters after his name. He is a world renowned competitive winer. Accomplishments include 6th place in the Fargo Wine Pairing Tournament with a bold pairing of fried rice and a Slovenian Pinot Noir, reaching the semi finals in the Brooklyn Spit Bucket Distance bout, and advancing to the 4th heat in the Poughkeepsie Thanksgiving Wine Selections Speed Challenge. He is currently training to rate everything on a 100 point scale, only using the numbers 80-100. Two cats reside at his house. They are 96 and 89 points, and pair well with laps.
Ash- Swiss Army Knife
Have a question about whether we carry a product? Ask Ash. Wondering if something is in stock, and how many bottles we currently have? Ask Ash. Ash does a little bit of everything around here, and is more than happy to help you find something or help with a recommendation.
Abby - Sales Associate/Joy Intern
If Abby had known how great working at Charlestown Wine & Spirits would be, she would have begged to be hired years earlier. She thinks everyone on staff is as nice as they are smart and she aspires to keep up the pace of her esteemed colleagues. She is not a native Rhode Islander, but South County residents don't seem to mind. An amateur philosopher, Abby has wondered whether God exists and in what form, but she guesses wine is evidence that miracles on earth are present daily and that there's abundant love in the universe. Abby says if you know anyone who's hiring/training mystics, she'd fill out an application, but until then exploring wine's mysteries will have to suffice. If you hear jazz playing in the store, that's probably because Abby has just nagged Justin to change the Spotify.
Ken - The Wine Guy
Ken's first wine sale was a bottle with the initials Th. J. He's constantly tasting wine, in order to find you the very best wines out there, for you! While his fan club is now on a long wait list, you can always stop by and ask him what wine he's found lately.
